ABOUT APEX 28 RACEWAY

Apex 28 Raceway Classes and Rules

Operating Hours: Wednesdays and Thursday

5PM - 10PM

1.  Apex 28 Box Stock / Rookie Class (On-Road)

 

  • Driver Skill: beginners, kids, and drivers looking for low-cost, close racing. 
     

  • Kyosho MR01, Kyosho MR02, Kyosho MR03, Kyosho MR04, Team Associated SR27
     

  • Chassis: Any 90mm -98mm chassis wheelbase

  • Motor: Stock brushed motor with white end-bell
    No modifications allowed. 

  • Any gear included in the box (6 tooth - 9 tooth)

  • Batteries: AAA Batteries - NiHM ONLY - EBL1100 mah Max (Industry standard 800 -900 mah)

  • Any branded upgrades allowed for durability (i.e -steering, knuckles, springs, T-plates)​

  • Aluminum wheel nuts allowed

  • Any hardbody allowed (No lexan bodies)

  • Any branded 1/28 scale wheels allowed. No 3d printed wheels allowed.

  • Aftermarket transmitters permitted.

  • Spec Tire (TO BE DETERMINED)

🏁 APEX 28 RACEWAY – TECH INSPECTION 🏁

1. 🛡️ Track Safety & Vehicle Condition

  • Chassis Under Inspection: No exposed screws or sharp edges protruding from the bottom of the chassis that could tear or scratch the RCP foam tiles.

  • Body Clearance: Front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser do not drag heavily on the ground (to prevent gouging the track surface).

  • No Liquid Leaks: Diffs, dampers, and shocks are sealed. No grease or oil is actively leaking onto the chassis or wheels.

 

2. 🛞 Tires & Traction

  • No tire compound or cleaner allowed.

  • Dry & Chemical-Free: Tires are completely dry. Strictly NO tire traction compound (sauce).

  • No Exposed Rims: Tires are securely glued/mounted; rims cannot contact the RCP track during hard cornering.

3. 🔋 Battery Safety

  • Battery Condition: Hard-case or soft-case batteries show no signs of swelling, puffing, deep punctures, or exposed wiring.

  • Voltage Limit: Max 2S LiPo (8.40V fully charged) or 4x AAA NiMH.

  • Safety Compliance: Driver confirms they possess a LiPo charging safety bag at their pit station.

  • LIPO SAFE CHARGE BAG IS A REQUIREMENT while charging.

 

4. ⚡ Class Specifications & Electronics

  • Box Stock Verification: Please see class for regulations.

  • Blinky Mode (Super Stock Only): ESC timing/turbo functions are disabled (LED blinking if applicable).

  • Mod/Open Class: Electronics function properly with no glitching; transponder signal is verified actively reading.

2. Apex 28 LM Class

 

  • Driver Skill: Intermediate hobbyists and racers moving up from Stock. This is usually the most popular club class. 
     

  • Chassis: Any Kyosho LM 102mm chassis only

  • Motor: Stock brushed motor with white end-bell
    No modifications allowed. 

  • Any gear included in the box (6 tooth - 9 tooth)

  • Batteries: AAA Batteries - NiHM ONLY - EBL1100 mah Max (Industry standard 800 - 900 mah)

  • Any branded upgrades allowed for durability (i.e -steering, knuckles, springs, T-plates)​

  • Aluminum wheel nuts allowed

  • Any LM body allowed (No lexan allowed)

  • Any branded 1/28 scale wheels allowed. (No 3d printed wheels allowed.)

  • Aftermarket transmitters permitted.

  • Spec Tire (TO BE DETERMINED)

3. Apex 28 AAA Mini Open Class (Brushless Evo)

 

  • Driver Skill: Intermediate hobbyists and racers moving up from Stock.
     

  • Chassis: Any Kyosho Mini Z platform or PNR 2.5W

  • Motor: Stock brushless system or Kyosho Xspeed motor

  • Open gear ratio. Standard will be 53 tooth spur and 12 tooth pinion

  • Batteries: AAA Batteries - NiHM ONLY - EBL1100 mah (Industry standard is 800 - 900 mah)

  • Any performance upgrades

  • Aluminum wheel nuts allowed

  • Any branded hard body

  • Any wheels allowed

  • Aftermarket transmitters permitted.

  • Spec Tire (TO BE DETERMINED)

4. Apex 28 Lipo 3500 Class

 

  • Driver Skill: Intermediate hobbyists and racers moving up from Stock.
     

  • Chassis: Open 1/28 kit (ie - Atomic, Associated, Reflex etc.)

  • Any 98-102mm wheelbase

  • Motor: Sensored 3500kv motor (Max3800kv)

  • Open gear ratio. Standard will be 53 tooth spur and 12 tooth pinion

  • Batteries:2 cell Lipo 500 mah Max

  • Any performance upgrades

  • Aluminum wheel nuts allowed

  • Any branded hard body

  • Any wheels allowed

  • Aftermarket transmitters permitted.

  • Spec Tire (TO BE DETERMINED)

5. 1/28 Micro Buggy / Truck Class (Off-Road)

​

  • Driver Skill: Casual fun for all skill levels, specifically utilizing the off-road configurations on the RCP track jumps. 
     

  • Chassis:1/28 Scale Off-Road Buggy or Truck (e.g., Kyosho Mini-Z Buggy MB-010, Team Losi Micro

  • Motor: Stock brushed (Brushless system TO BE DETERMINED) 

  • Batteries: AAA NiMH or small 2S LiPos  (depending on vehicle model). 

  • Any branded upgrades allowed.

  • Spec tires (TO BE DETERMINED)

Apex 28 Track Info

Track layout

Apex 28 Raceway is a  dedicated 1/28 indoor RC racing facility, featuring an RCP track designed for close, competitive exciting racing.

​

We welcome both on-road and off-road 1/28 scale vehicles, with our layout periodically changing to keep the racing fresh and challenging. For our off-road racers, we'll also incorporate jumps and technical features into select layouts, adding another level of excitement and skill to the racing experience.

​

Whether you're a seasoned racer or new to 1/28 scale RC, Apex 28 Raceway offers a family - friendly environment where everyone can come together, improve their driving and enjoy the thrill of RC racing.

​

Our track size is 41 feet x 18 feet with plenty of pit tables for everyone. 

​

We also have specialist to help you setup your cars and help show you how to take the Apex perfectly.
